Joining Troop 8

All boys are welcome to join the Adventure of Scouting!

Troop 8 is a boy Scout Troop.  For a boy to become a member of Troop 8:

  • You must be 11 years old or in the Sixth Grade
  • You must be under 18 years old

Most of Troop 8's Scouts come from the Dayton School District and Pack 8.  Typically, we have one outdoor activity every month where we learn Scouting skills such as camping, hiking, cooking, backpacking, and survival skills.  Additionally, we practice our citizenship skills and participate in community service projects.  Troop 8 is "Scout Run", which means the Scouts decide which activities they want to do and when they do them. The adults in Troop 8 guide the Scouts and help them carry out their plans.

Troop 8 meets every Tuesday night from 6:30pm to 8:00pm in the Fellowship Center of Eastgate Church, 1709 County Road 611.  All boys are welcome to attend any meeting.  Once a boy decides to join Troop 8, he needs to  have a parent or guardian attend a meeting with him.
